Job Summary
AKS Engineering & Forestry, LLC is seeking an immediate position for a full-time, experienced Wetland Scientist to join our growing Natural Resource team. This is a full-time, hourly position working closely with company Project Managers and junior Natural Resource staff. This position would report to our Tualatin, Oregon office.

AKS Engineering & Forestry, LLC is seeking an immediate position for a full-time, experienced Wetland Scientist to join our growing Natural Resource team. This is a full-time, hourly position working closely with company Project Managers and junior Natural Resource staff. This position would report to our Tualatin, Oregon office.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in wetland/wildlife ecology, environmental science/biology, botany, soils, or similar related science.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience conducting wetland delineation fieldwork in Oregon and/or Washington.
- Experience conducting wetland delineations using the Western Mountains, Valleys, and Coast Region or Arid West USACE Regional Supplements.
- Experience preparing Wetland Delineation Reports in accordance with DSL standards.
- Experience preparing Joint Permit Applications meeting DSL removal-fill law and USACE Section 404 Clean Water Act requirements.
- Experience with SFAM and ORWAP.
- Pacific Northwest plant identification skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently, to manage multiple priorities, and to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to take personal responsibility for completing quality work within budgets and timelines.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Conduct wetland delineations, ordinary high-water delineations, and stream flow duration assessments; riparian habitat assessments; plant and wildlife surveys; and other similar natural resource related fieldwork throughout Oregon and SW Washington.
- Prepare Wetland Delineation Reports meeting state standards.
- Conduct wetland and stream function and value assessments.
- Prepare Joint Permit Applications and associated compensatory mitigation plans.
