We’re looking for a Wetland Scientist to join our growing Natural Resources team and support a wide range of public and private projects across Oregon and Northern California. You’ll work closely with AKS project managers and environmental scientists, gathering field data, preparing reports, and helping clients navigate the regulatory process.

We’re looking for a Wetland Scientist to join our growing Natural Resources team and support a wide range of public and private projects across Oregon and Northern California. You’ll work closely with AKS project managers and environmental scientists, gathering field data, preparing reports, and helping clients navigate the regulatory process.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct wetland delineations, ordinary high-water mark determinations, and riparian habitat assessments
- Prepare high-quality Wetland Delineation Reports that meet Oregon DSL and/or USACE standards
- Collaborate with teammates and agency staff to support permitting and compliance
- Use Trimble GPS units and background mapping tools to collect and organize field data
- Travel to field sites across Oregon and Northern California (overnight trips as needed)
- Contribute to the environmental and permitting components of infrastructure, land use, and development projects
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience conducting wetland delineations using the Western Mountains, Valley, and Coast or Arid West Corps of Engineers Regional Supplements
- Proven ability to identify Pacific Northwest plant species
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in outdoor field settings
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage deadlines across multiple projects
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with GIS
- Experience preparing DSL wetland removal-fill permits
- Understanding of USACE Section 404 permitting
- Field experience using Trimble GPS equipment
- Previous work in a consulting or multidisciplinary project environment
